is an artistic and eclectic DJ that credits his hometown of Jersey City, NJ for his love of music, art, and hip hop culture. It was there that he would spend his weekends watching his uncle spin at parties, cookouts, and family gatherings. As a result, he developed a passion for deejaying as well as a passion for mixing, blending, and creating new music. As a child, Dub loved art and was greatly into comic book collecting, toys and cartoons. He would always draw, sketch and write poetry.  He felt a connection between music and art and believed that the two went hand in hand. A lot of his creative influences today stem from the passion he had for art and music as a child.

As a teen Dub decided to pick up a mic and pursue a career as an emcee… working an after school job to pay for studio time and spitting in cyphers with fellow Jersey City emcee Joe Budden he was determined to make a name for himself. After graduating high school Dub enlisted in the United States Army serving for three years and a deployment to Iraq (OIF) in 2003. It wasn’t until he returned home from war that he decided to put the mic down and take deejaying more serious. Having remembered all of the DJ skills he was taught as a child he gave deejaying a go and began crafting mixtapes.

Dub Floyd was (and still is) influenced by DJs such as Grand Wizard Theodore, Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, Grandmaster Roc Raida, Ron G, DJ Juice, Green Lantern, and Dirty Harry.  He has worked with numerous artists such as Kanye West, Pharrell, Raekwon of Wu Tang Clan, David Banner, Sheek Louch of The LOX, Talib Kweli, Killer Mike, AZ, and many more!

In 2006, DJ Dub Floyd teamed up with the Adult Swim television show The Boondocks to release Hip Hop Docktrine: The Official Boondocks Mixtape hosted by (award winning and theme song emcee) Asheru.  Due to the success of the first cd, Dub went on to release volumes 2,  2.5 and 3 all with hosts such as David Banner, Phonte of Little Brother, Skyzoo, Killer Mike and Metaphor The Great.

2008 proved to be a great year for DJ Dub Floyd.  In addition to joining The League Crew and being on Sirius Satellite Radio (League Crew Radio) with fellow DJs Mick Boogie, Terry Urban and Wally Sparks, he was also the 2008 Justo Mixtape Awards nominee for Best Blend DJ and Best Promotional Mixtape for Hip Hop Docktrine 2.  He is also the 2008 Justo Mixtape Award Winner for Rookie Of The Year. Later that year he became the official DJ for Hip Hop recording artist Phene. Realizing each others strengths and resources they formed the company High Off Life, LLC. and HighOffLife.com.

DJ Dub Floyd is with no question one of the most creative DJs in the game! He’s constantly proving why his signature SCREAMIXXES and SMASH-UPS are a cut above any blend and mash-up you can imagine. A chameleon is the best way to describe him… it doesn’t matter if he’s rocking a party, crafting a mixtape, breaking records or helping indie/unsigned artists establish a buzz, he will make it an experience!
